Bowden U15s started their season with a home game against Countesthorpe. Bowden fielded a very
young side, with lots of new players to the team. Bowden batted first and they found runs hard to come by against a good Countesthorpe
bowling line up. In their 18 overs Bowden scored 55 for the loss of 4 wickets, the main cotributors being, George Thornton
with a well struck 9 not out and Ryan Gibson with 6.
Countesthorpe managed to chase down the total in the 10th over for the loss of 2 wickets. The
2 wickets fell to 2 debutants Matt Sayles ( 1 for 13 ) and Tom Reeve ( 1 for 6 ) both bowlers looking very promising for future
games. Ryan Gibson bowled well with no reward but only conceded 3 runs from his 2 overs and young George Thornton had a strong
game behind the stumps.
